Schematic Reference
Schematic Reference has been downloaded over 1,250 times as of February 27th, 2010.
A simple electronic schematic reference app for beginning EE students, hobbyists, or anyone interested in learning about electronics.
Components are grouped into categories for easy browsing.
Having recently released Comic News Stand on the Android Market to a better-than-expected reception, I decided to create an app that I thought would have been interesting to me when I started learning electronics. I whipped together a simple application using some schematic symbols symbols that I had available on my hard drive and pushed Schematic Reference v1.0 out to the masses — again for free.
It was fairly well received, but many users were asking for a more complete set of symbols. I brought in artist and long-time friend, Chad Eversgerd to create a more thorough set of symbols. He worked through the night to whip up a much more comprehensive set of images to use in the next version.
Future versions of Schematic Reference are being planned, but due to scheduling constraints, I can not commit to any timeline. Future versions will include the ability to search for components by name, and the ability to retrieve detailed information about each component and how it’s used in a circuit.
